LEICESTER SQUARE THEATRE

The Leicester Square Theatre is London's newest theatre. We're kicking off in style with a programme that hits the highest notes, and a season that really reflects the sort of entertainment we want to see (and we think you want to see) in the West End. It's tempting for us to call this a revolution - so we're going to. We hope you'll come down soon to see exactly what we're talking about.
 
We’re well underway at London’s theatre, with the most comfortable and “friendliest feeling auditoriums in London” (Theatremonkey) hosting some of the biggest and best names in the business. Highlights of our opening two months included the legendary Joan Rivers and Roseanne Barr, as well as cult hits from Doug Stanhope, Hans Teeuwen and the YouTube sensation Bo Burnham (most of the latter as part of the BIG JOKE comedy festival).

Coming up, we have some cracking new names and old favourites from right across the spectrum – definitely something here for all tastes!

We’re hosting the transfers of Blowing Whistles and Alex – much more on their own pages, of course. To close out November, Scott Capurro takes on a week in the West End after a five star Edinburgh run - make sure you you watch out for other notables appearing on the events page, too!

The Basement

The Basement will be home to our most outrageous, cutting-edge, weird and wonderful shows, giving artists a space to develop new work and ideas with free rein to use the intimate and perfectly-formed studio space. It’s programmed by the legendary King of Cabaret, Paul L Martin, bringing the craziest and most creative people together with ideas that may one day make their way to the main stage, or find a home in another suitable dark room elsewhere – whatever happens, it certainly won’t be forgettable.

The Basement has just hosted some of the best new standup and sketch comedy up-and-comers during the BIG JOKE, and the regular programme is now underway with a weekly schedule of cabaret-inspired, cult hits from Soho, the darkest recesses of the West End and far beyond…
