About Us

"A wonderful venue... the best place to see stand-up in the capital right now" James Mullinger, GQ
The Leicester Square Theatre is the West End's newest and most luxurious theatre, with two exceptional spaces for drama, comedy, music and cabaret. Firstly there is the beautiful Main House with its unique, newly-installed Oscar-style seating (with the bonus of two bars within the auditorium) and secondly the intimate Basement Theatre with its own bar and cabaret-style seating, which has taken shape nicely downstairs.
"There isn't a comic I wouldn't pay double to watch at the gorgeous little basement space in the Leicester Square Theatre" Kate Copstick, Time Out
Opening in August 2008, LST kicked off the season in style with a programme that hit the highest notes, and a season that really reflected the sort of entertainment we want to see (and judging by the numbers through the door, we think you like to see too) in the West End.
"An unquestionably groovy place to be" Sunday Times
We've spent the last 18 months with some truly legendary names here at the theatre (Joan Rivers, Roseanne Barr, Stewart Lee, Sandra Bernhard, Mark Little, Julian Clary, Miss Polly Rae, Russell Howard and Jim Bailey to name but a few) and we're bringing some more of our favourite shows and artists here to London over the coming season (including Doug Stanhope, Jim Jeffries, Stewart Lee and Richard Herring).
The list is certainly not restricted to the big names - we think it's important (and exciting too) to bring in brilliant up-and-coming artists and the cult names of the underground. You won't recognise all the names on our website but you'll certainly be hearing more from them soon.
It's tempting for us to call this a revolution - so we're going to. We hope you'll come down soon to see exactly what we're talking about.
